BOSTON PREMIERE!! |
One of the world's premier
performance artists, Laurie Anderson has intrigued, entertained and challenged
audiences for two decades. Traditionally known for her thought-provoking
and technology-driven performance pieces, Anderson takes a more introspective
and organic approach in her newest spoken-word piece, The End of
the Moon. As NASA's first artist-in-residence, Anderson draws on
her recent research and travels. Part travelogue, part personal theory,
history and dream, The End of the Moon looks at the relationships between
war, aesthetics, spirituality and consumerism. Anecdotal, wide-ranging
and epic, this original work also features Anderson's new music for violin
and electronics.
