The RUSSIAN
NATIONAL BALLET THEATRE was brought together and inspired for serious
work by its leaders: General Director Vladimir Moiseev, a soloist of the
Bolshoi Theater and grandson of the legendary Igor Moiseev, and Artistic
Director Evgeny Amosov. The RNBT was founded with the help and support
of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian federation. The necessity to
have a young, promising and vibrant theatre with a unique potential in
both classical and modern dance, was the main reason for its foundation.
The
repertoire of the company includes not only classical performances such
as SWAN LAKE, GISELLE, DON QUIXOTE, NUTCRACKER and SLEEPING BEAUTY, but
also modern ballets to the music of Mozart, Bach, Ravel and others.
The corps de ballet of the
company numbers 55 dancers, and is the result of a highly disciplined focus
to find the most dedicated and talented dancers. A great effort has gone
into providing the correct atmosphere and condition in which to develop
and perfect the artists mastery and creative search. The company’s main
soloists ages range from 17 to 25. Many of them have already won international
recognition and are winners of prestigious competitions. Before joining
the company most of the artists have already had the experience of working
with leading ballet companies of Russia - in such cities as Moscow, Perm,
Ekaterinburg, Samara and Novosibirsk. They have mastered equally well the
art of classical, character, modern dance and even light jazz, but it is
the classical dance that is the cornerstone of the theater.
