About the Cutler Majestic Theatre
The Cutler Majestic Theatre
at Emerson College is a 100-year-old newly restored opera house at the
heart of Boston's historic downtown Theatre District, near Boston Common.
It’s an active 1,200-seat proscenium theater hosting nearly 300 performances
annually. Programming includes both international presenters and
New England resident opera, dance and theater producers.
Emerson’s Tufte Performance
and Production Center (PPC) is a brand new 10-story complex which includes
a 200-seat thrust theater, a 100-seat black box, costume, prop, and design
shops, as well as an art gallery and television production facilities.
Theaters are used primarily by Emerson College’s School of Performing Arts,
a leader in the community that boasts the oldest theater education degree
in the US. |
