    It's YOUR Staff
You choose your staff at the Majestic.

Some downtown theaters require that you conform to staffing contracts negotiated without considering your unique needs. We respect your management perogative of hiring your own staff, although we require a minimal supervisory staff experienced in the safe and efficient operation of the theater.

You get the greatest flexibility in meeting your unique needs. Bottom line: a cost-effective event.

    How to book the theatre
The Cutler Majestic Theatre is very tightly scheduled.  The owner, Emerson College, subsidizes every performance day, regardless of which artist is performing.  Booking performances is much like requesting a grant or seeking financial backing for your production.  Emerson chooses performances very carefully and looks for events that are both consistent with its mission and complimentary to other events that are already scheduled.  Consideration is given to the presentation skills of the promoter -- marketing track record and fiscal skills as well as artistic niche and quality.

The first step is to discuss your event plans with Manager Lance Olson, 617-824-8183, who will ask about the concerns in the paragraph above as well as checking available dates and times.  He is likely to ask for your current performance schedule and references from other presenters so that he may audit your existing relationships and send a committee member to attend your performance.
