“Wild, witty, wet and altogether
winning.” -- The New York Times
“A series of individual acts
visualize a sort of memory tone poem in startling and stunning images that
come to life. In fact, they explode into life with performances that are
as witty as they are wondrous.” -- Theatermania.com
"In Rain, Cirque Éloize
shines" -- LA Times
Cirque Éloize
has been traveling the globe for over a decade, trading the tent for the
theater in a magical brand of circus artistry that draws on the big-top
tradition, and yet is entirely original. Their latest knock-your socks-off
production, Rain, bathes us in nostalgic memories of childhood,
paying homage to the summer storms in which we frolicked as youth. The
journey home ends in a joyous downpour of real rain that sends the cast
careening across the stage in drenching cascades of water. Rain pours out
a visual and aural feast that’s at once poetic, mystical, musical, acrobatic,
entertaining, breathtakingly beautiful — and as cool and refreshing as
a summer shower. |
