| Eight comics who, after
competing with 98 of the nation’s funniest up-and-comers, make it past
the preliminary and semi-final rounds, will vie for $10,000 in prize money
in the Boston Comedy Festival Contest Finals.
In addition, the Finals will
feature the presentation of its first annual lifetime achievement awards
to Dorchester native and king of the malaprop, Norm Crosby, a comedy
veteran known for his appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, The Tonight
Show and The Dean Martin Show, and Jonathan Winters,
mercurial improv genius, who has spent half a century making people laugh
and paving the way for many of the great comics who came later. Crosby
will be on hand to receive his award. Winters received his in a taped ceremony,
which will be played at the Finals, earlier this year. Click

This year's event is hosted
by Boston comedy legend Jim McCue, who has appeared on Comedy Central,
Comcast Comedy Spotlight and recently returned from entertaining our troops
in Iraq. The evening will feature special appearances by WZLX morning team
guys Karlson and McKenzie.
Don't miss the biggest night
of comedy!
